About
Dennis McAvena was a very young boy when he first asked his grandmother if he could rearrange her living room. It became a regular request of friends and relatives, and Dennis quickly became known as the family decorator. His idea boards were drawn on the back of unused roles of wall coverings saved by his grandmother.
He graduated from Ohio University in Business Management and attended the Columbus College of Art & Design where he met a professor who put him in touch with Columbus's premiere carriage trade designer. Soon he was asked to design homes for the designer's clients, and to go on buying trips to London and Paris with his mentor.
Multifaceted, Dennis directs his design skills to meet the vision of his clients. Versatility reflects the description of Dennis's work, whether traditional, transitional or modern. His rooms are comfortable and are owned by the client, not the designer.
